2. Reward yourself with a gift
Every time you deny yourself unhealthy foods jot down your savings and reward yourself after 21 days. The savings and gift to yourself will keep you focused, disciplined and on track to healthy living. REWARD yourself for your success with gifts not food!!
3. Reward yourself with a nap
Create a spa environment and crawl into bed and enjoy at least a 20 minute nap and rejuvenate, restore and refresh!
Both power naps and deep sleep improve your brain power and increase your body's stamina, but deep sleep typically produces more extensive, longer-lasting results. During a full cycle of regular sleep, your body rejuvenates and repairs itself. Various activities that take place include memory consolidation, muscle and tissue repair, energy restoration and hormone releases, according to the National Sleep Foundation. During a power nap, your brain slows down, your body temperature lowers and your muscles relax. Much like taking a quick drink of water helps hydrate your body, power naps refresh your mind and relax your body in a relatively short time. ~ Livestrong
My mom (78) was a "Power Napper" before the phrase was invented! 20 minutes every afternoon. And she is so right. I find myself doing the same thing occasionally. Just have to stay on the couch, not the bed or it turns out to be longer than 20 minutes! lol
ReplyDeleteTrying to get husband, 7 year old and myself to slow down enough to nap is difficult. Lately, I find myself grabbing a book, water and some grapes and reading to my son very relaxing. We both enjoy the down time.
ReplyDeleteI love love love naps. I take naps every Sunday after church.
ReplyDeleteLove your idea on rewarding myself when I win the battle of eating bad food!!!! And the great thing is that when we fuel our bodies with good, clean food our bodies appreciate it. So it's like a double blessing! =)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Po.
ReplyDeleteListening to the Word is great because it renews the mind. This week I've been listening to a great CD of Apostle Price where he talks about self-control. And I plan on continuing to listen to it until I master self-control when it comes to eating.
ReplyDelete"beauty is not just on the outside, show your beauty within and bless others with the reward of a kind word today"--We are blessed to be a blessing & by others seeing Christ through us--this is how we can lead others to Christ;-)
