Day 9 CHANGE

Day 9 ~ 21 Day Transformation Challenge

CHANGE
 Think like a Child

Don't get yourself in a rut, change it up and think like a child.  Have fun again, children love to be active, play, they love color, vibrant toys, the outdoors, they love to dance, they love to read... not binge, pig out and sit in front of a TV all day and be lazy unless they LEARNED those habits.

1.  Have faith like a child
Children believe and trust everything we say, we need to do the same and put all our faith and trust God whole heartedly!  Trust in God and His word verses worrying, stressing, resenting others, walking in anger and fearing the worst.  Instead walk in the fruits of the Spirit, by walking in love, peace, joy, kindness...  And take on this child like attitude and dance, sing, praise, read and have fun with your Father God!

When we worry, stress, walk in unforgiveness or fear we are hindering our health.  Studies show 75%-90% of health problems are stress related.  Read more about the affects stress & worry have on your body to help you quit this bad habit.

Proverbs 3:4 & 5 Trust in God lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Proverbs 3: 4 & 5

Galatians 5:22-23 the Fruits of the Spirit are listed as: love, joy (gladness of heart), peace, long-suffering (patience, having an even temper), gentleness (excellence in character, showing kindness), goodness (being good toward others), faithfulness, meekness (which is having no self interest) and temperance (self-control).

1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Mat 18:3, 4 (KJV) And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:44-45 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, {45} that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Mark 11: 24 "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. 25 "Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.

2.Playful Workouts

If your already getting bored with your current routine, don't worry just change it up and make exercise fun again by thinking like a child.  Go outside and play basketball, swim, run relay races, run the beach, stairs, play in the play ground chasing your kids every where, etc.

3. Eat like a child

  • Children eat only to fuel up, they can't wait to eat and play.  We need to do the same and only eat to fuel up verses eating to have fun.  Food shouldn't be the fun part, it's the activities that should be fun.
  • smaller portions, small colorful plates.  choose blue plates, they suppress your appetite.  never choose red they have the opposite affect.
  • Would you give your child alcohol or cigarettes? You wouldn't even let them walk through smoke, right.  You protect your child but whose protecting you from all the cancer causing poisons.  It's gotta be you!  Think like a child and say NO!
*fitness expert Jackie Warner : Alcohol blunts your body's ability to produce fat burning hormones. Cut it out for 1 month and see how much your body changes! (I don't drink but I hope this proves helpful to others!)
    4. Add color to your wardrobe

Changing up your wardrobe, brightening up the hum drum grey and black routine will brighten up your attitude.  Add colors like blues, yellows, orange and green to your wardrobe to enhance a healthier affect on your way of life. You never put your baby girl in black, why would you wear black.  Be like a child, add color to your life!

    5. Laugh

Laugh is good like a medicine.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones" Proverbs 17:22, NIV

    6. Sleep like a child

Young children, like my 22 month old daughter, habitually sleep 10-12 hours every night.  It's natural for them, it's healthy and it's what the body requires to function properly.  We obviously fell out of the habit of sleeping the required hours, but that doesn't mean we can't get back on track.  Put YOURSELF to bed at a timely hour just like you would your child and get back on track to healthy living. To make this a habit again, promise to mimic this pattern for the next 21 days. A full night sleep equals a healthier body, mind and soul!

Without enough sleep, your immune system may not have the resources it needs to fight off illness. Most adults need about seven to nine hours of sleep each night. You can help yourself to a more restful sleep by keeping a regular schedule, getting exercise, avoiding caffeine and alcohol close to bedtime, relaxing before bedtime, and keeping your bedroom at a comfortable temperature. Think like a child, think limitless and enjoy life to the fullest!

    2. Thanks Angie for the great advice...needed to prepare for an unexpected road trip. Got tied up longer than I wanted to and spent dinner away from the house. It was hard passing up all the vending machines and opt for water...need to keep an extra serving of shakeology in the trunk for those unexpected trips.

    3. That's a great idea, Carrie. Angie, this is great. You know, after I'm done with my workout or come home from work, I'm done. I don't want to do anything but lay down & watch TV or surf the web. My daughter is still active after she's been playing all day at school. I will stop saying "I am tired" & start saying "I have so much energy."
